Red Bull Music Odyssey Takes Over Thames With 6 Boat Floatilla

Celebrating the diverse sounds of UK and international music Red Bull Music UK organised the mother of all boat parties.

On Saturday June 30th 6 boats , 2,000 ravers and 50 artists set sail from Westminster Pier with one mission – create the ultimate turn up and give the best boat party London has ever seen.

Each boat was captained by a leader of the respective scene. Transmission was the boat of Grime sounds. Captained by Uber tastemaker Julie Adenuga she shelled the dance with grime banger after banger and brought in PAs from AJ Tracey (who came in on a speedboat!), Big Zuu, Heartless Crew, D Double E, Capo Lee and Flohio.

On the decks tunes were provided by DJ Slimzee, Maximum and Sian Anderson.

For UK GRIME Transmission was the only place to be, but a close second was the UK Rap boat captained by Steel Bangles with a heavy weight lineup of some of the leading artists in the resurgent UK Rap scene.

Dancehall and Reggae were covered on the Wineup boat captained by Jubilee with Kranium delivering standout set while catching the odd cheeky wine, and Drum and Bass OGs Goldie, Stamina and GQ brought the energy to The Roller boat party.

Finally the chill party vibes could be found on The Forever Dancer captained by House supremo DJ Sulta, and The Boogie captained by Henry Wu and Moses Boyd.

The Redbull Music Odyssey was the ultimate summer boat party and the floatilla had heads turning all the way down the River Thames as they sailed past all the major London landmarks as the summer sun lazily dippeed behind the horizon.

Tickets were sold out weeks before the event – so if you missed this event you definitely missed out.

However – no need to worry catch up on all the sets below, or if you were there relive the moment.
