Wild Life has a history of crazy line-ups and the grime packed 2016 line-up was going to be tough to beat but somehow they’ve done it. With the Boy in the Corner himself, Dizzee Rascal, taking up a headline spot alongside one of the most commercially successful grime artists to date, Stormzy, Grime is most definitely at the forefront of the Wild Life team’s vision for their Brighton based shutdown!

With top acts from other genres such as Rag’n’Bone Man, Andy C and Fatboy Slim there is something for everyone but for me the amount of grime and UK rap talent on display is the main victory. From the rarely seen solo Jme set to the fizzy flow champion Scrufizzer there is plenty a treat for grime fans.

Giggs, Wiley, Prez T, Logan Sama and DJ Target also grace the line-up with their now legendary status but young talents J Hus, Stefflon Don and AJ Tracey will definitely show crowds how the music coming out of the UK is evolving with a new generation of artists.

For me the highlight set could come from Preditah & C4. The Birmingham boys have a number of big tracks between them with Preditah being up there as one of my favourite producers. His talent was perfectly demonstrated by his latest release “Blank Canvas Vol.1” and the energy his riddims provoke will make him a perfect fit for a festival.

With the medias eyes on the grime scene and emerging artists its nice to see festivals are also giving them the respect they deserve and its us as an audience who will reap the benefits. Wild Life festival is going to bang and frankly I feel sorry for anyone who misses it.
