Reading and Leeds fest is a staple event of the UK, each year it brings a massive lineup to the two sites with sellouts becoming common place. Over the past few years, many festivals have jumped on the hype of grime and saturated their lineups with artists from our scene however, as the hype has subdued, as have the bookings. This pattern can be seen across many UK festivals this year except for Reading and Leeds who have only continued their support of grime and other urban music genres.
Despite receiving backlash from other scenes who claim the ‘rock and roll element’ of then festival has ‘died’, we see names such as Krept & Konan, J Hus and AJ Tracey on the lineup- who for many are the modern day rockstars!
Each day is also packed with worldwide talent from Wizkid to Travis Scott and Kendrick Lamar it seems nearly every music genre represented at the festival has one of its biggest names appearing. With the atmosphere only being boosted by the consistently strong setup and stages of the festivals you’d be dumb not to grab your tent and sleeping bag and get camping.
