Sequences festival is back again this year to shutdown Bristol’s motion venue. With three stage areas hosted by Bandulu, Critical sound and The Blast we’re in for a very high BPM lineup. The festival takes place on the 29th of August across a mixture of inside and outside venues in Motion Bristol’s complex on Avon Street.

The standouts stage for me lineup wise has to be the Bandulu stage; featuring massive Bristol talents such as Kahn & Neek, Hi5 Ghost & Boofy, OH91 and Lemzy Dale. With Sir Spyro, Commodo. Amy Becker. Madam X and more joining them the DJ talent is in a league of its own when looking at other festivals. With the stage being powered by the RC1 soundsytem expect to hear every subtle element of every dub spun.

Bristol events company The Blast is also coming with a strong lineup, with a headline set from Chase and Status and even more DJs who love to spin grime such as Flava D, ELijah & Skillam, Chimpo, & Trigga, Darkzy and Fire Man Sam this festival will truly be a masterclass in DJing. The Blast stage will also feature live performances from Kojo Funds and Belly Squad.

I feel like this lineup summarises the scene in Bristol, with a lot of producing and DJ talent you’ll struggle to get through a week without seeing some kind of rave with a name you like on it. However, there’s little to no consistent MCs putting out tracks so if DJ sets aren’t your thing then Bristol isn’t for you.
